Susie's nine year old sister, Ellie, had vanished two years earlier, in 1949. The Maxwell parents had been murdered and now Ellie was gone, so it was an obvious kidnapping.

Now, it was 1951. Susie had vowed she wouldn't stop until she found Ellie, no matter how long it took.
