The hallway was silent, except for the sound of my hurried footsteps. I was walking in a hurry to my next class. However, when I turned the corner, I couldn't avoid the impact. The stack of papers flew everywhere, as did my patience.
"HEY! What's your problem? Aren't you watching where you are?" Steven's familiar voice sounded, irritated, as he looked at me with that superior expression I hated.
I stood up quickly, trying to compose myself. "OMG! I'm sorry, I'm so s-" My voice was cut off as I realized who it was. "Oh, it's you? Then it served me right!"
He narrowed his eyes as he bent down to put the papers away. "Of course you did it on purpose just to embarrass me. You're worse than I thought!"
I crossed my arms, feeling the heat of prosperity rise to my face. "The world doesn't revolve around someone as stupid as you, Steven."
He stopped in mid-motion, holding up one of the papers, and looked at me with a sarcastic smile. "Idiot? You only say that because you know I'm always right. But you know what? Thanks for confirming what I already knew: you can't live without causing me trouble."
