Jeff has always been loyal but never really talked about his feelings but this time something was really bothering him and you knew something was up. He was he quieter than usual, you wanted to ask him about it but decided that it was best if he came to you about it instead, not wanting to make him feel worse or unsettled. You wanted him to feel safe with telling you and that he could speak to you about anything at any time.

Jeff was always one to not want to worry you yet he knew he was worrying you with him not telling you about how he was feeling. He was never one to be angry or disappointed in you so you kept wondering what he was feeling. He seemed exhausted. Either from working late all the time or the weight on his shoulders from keeping his feelings from you. A few hours had passed and he was sat on the couch watching TV with you, his arm around you as he sighed softly. You could tell something was still bothering him you wanted to ask him about it but he began speaking.

''I need to tell you something but you have to promise that you won't worry.'' Jeff looked into your eyes, his breath shaky as he did so. You knew deep down he didn't want to tell you but he felt like he needed to, to get it off his chest, he didn't want there to be any secrets between the two of you.

''I feel like I'm not good enough for you, I know that you love me and I love you but sometimes I can't help but feel like I'm failing at being your boyfriend and all...'' Jeff looked away momentarily before looking back over at you, trying to keep his composure instead of breaking down in front of you. He never wanted to look weak but he couldn't help it, not when it was with you. He just wanted to show his true feelings and to be vulnerable with you but he also wanted to be protective and strong for you. You both depended on each other and you both liked that. You loved each other so much, you would do anything for each other. He was waiting for you to answer him, to reassure him, to tell him that what he's feeling isn't true.
