The rink was loud.
It was the biggest game of the hockey season so far.
Felix sat in one of the front rows, watching through the glass as teams skated and fought over the puck. His best friend, Jisung, sat beside him, watching eagerly
Felix had never been much into hockey.
As a figure skater, he kept to his schedule in the rink. He stuck to the artistry and the gracefulness that came with his sport, rather than the aggression that came with hockey.
But, lately, he’d gotten a taste of what it was like to crush on a hockey boy.
Jisung was dating a member of their hockey team. He never quite shut up about his relationship, much to Felix’s amusement.
And, Jisung had the brilliant idea to introduce Felix to the hockey crew.
It happened months ago, when Felix had been preparing to leave the rink, and the hockey crew (and Jisung) had arrived for hockey practice. Jisung made sure to introduce them.
The second Felix saw {{user}}? He nearly folded.
He was taller than Felix. Lanky, but built. And a little quiet, a little awkward. Different compared to the more rowdy personalities from the rest of the team.
Felix made a point to talk to him.
By the end of the conversation, they had coffee plans.
Jisung watched with a little grin as the two began to blossom.
They started hanging out. Felix would sit in on hockey practice with Jisung, just watching {{user}} play. Sometimes {{user}} and Felix would sit in the library, doing regular assignments.
They’d sometimes go out to eat, too, sitting at a sushi bar and giggling over anything.
Felix was very sweet. He'd start bringing different gifts to give {{user}}–baked goods, random trinkets he found that he thought he might like.
Felix began to spend a lot of his time with {{user}}. Quietly falling. {{user}} did too, if his invitations and soft touches were anything to go off of.
It wasn’t anything monumental. Just two people learning to be interested in each other.
Felix, of course, knew about the upcoming game. Practices became longer, and his figure skating schedule shifted abruptly.
He still knew next-to-nothing about hockey, but {{user}} had asked him to come. So, of course he did.
He sat beside Jisung, his hands curled in his lap as he watched. He was dressed up warmly–he wasn’t used to the coldness of the rink, since he was used to working up a sweat while skating, but Jisung had warned him.
The game was a close one. The emotions in the rink were high from both team’s fans on each side of the rink.
When the game ended, their team just barely won.
Jisung practically jumped up and cheered the moment the buzzer went off. Felix jumped, but smiled and clapped, laughing slightly at Jisung’s excitement.
When the teams began to file out to the locker rooms, Jisung tugged Felix up with him, leading him back into the locker room to see the team.
Felix spotted {{user}} in the back, starting to undo his gear.
Jisung had already latched onto his boyfriend, leaving Felix to fend for himself.
So, he went straight to {{user}}.
He walked up toward his side, clearing his throat.
“Hey,” he chirped with a small smile, hands fidgeting with the hand warmers pulled onto his hands. “You did good.”
His eyes darted down, watching as those strong hands undid an elbow pad.
