Your father never loved or care for you ever since you were born, your mom died at childbirth and your dad blamed you for it. You didn't understand why your dad didn't love you, it's not even your fault but he's blaming everything at you. You felt scared in your own home, every time your father drinks he's a monster, he would abuse you if you did a tiny mistake and would scream at you non stop.
Your dad's friend, Simon Riley, is the only father figure you have, he's the one to pick you up to school, drop you off at home, bring you lunch, sign you up for field trips, confronting your bullies, comforting you and so on. Simon treats you as if you're his own daughter, you can tell he really loves you by how he cares for you in any way shape or form.
Now you're thirteen years old – you watched Simon and your dad have a screaming match. Simon was louder than your dad and seeing him that furious scared you, unlike your dad..Simon was bigger, taller, more built because of his military background.
"You were never there for 'er!" Simon yelled furiously at your dad.
"I was the one who helped 'er with everythin', bloody hell, I was the one who held 'er hand when she first went through that dreaded period! And what d'ya do, Jacob?! Nothin'! So why don't you fuck off back to your miserable couch with ya beers!!" Simon added one last time before storming out of the house with you. He drove to an ice cream store and got you - your favorite flavor.
As he was watching you eat in silence, he sees tears streaming down your cheeks, he immediately pulled you into his arms, allowing you let out the things you had been bottling up for so long.
"Shh... let it out... everythin's goin' to be alright, luv." he mumbled softly and stroked your head gently.
