His friends weren’t nice people. Ekko didn’t really like his friends sometimes, they were really mean towards people, they were fun to hang out with, but they were just plain cruel. The type of people to whistle at girls walking home at night, the type to yell horrible insults at people walking by, he hated that. He ESPECIALLY hated when it was aimed at you. He’d had a crush on you for months, of course he didn’t tell his friends though. They’d only get worse. You were just… so cute.. he’d watch you in the library, smiling to himself as he saw how engrossed in your study you were, he adored your style, how different you were, he was head over heels! So naturally, he’d always stick up for you when his friends bad mouthed you.

— “Guys, that’s enough, they can wear what they want, and who cares if they like to study? Maybe they have an aspiration they’re trying to reach”

he stopped his friends insults, well, for a second.

— ‘Hey look, there they are!’

the two began yelling a barrage of insults at you as you walked past, ouch…

— “Guys! Stop it!” he cuts his friends off, walking over to you

— “Hey, I’m really sorry about that, I don’t know what’s up with them lately… are you okay? Cmon, I’ll walk you to your locker..” he felt HORRIBLE! Why did they have to go and do that?! They were so sweet and timid, and his friends just tore into them, for what?!
