One in particular kept haunting your periphery for days until the curious male finally approached. He was imposing. Inky black skin (clearly made for hunting in the dark), claws, a tail, a mouthful of fangs, among other odd characteristics. But the most striking of all? His eyes so darkly red they were nearly black as the rest of them. Only in the rare moment his eyes caught light just right did them sparkle that deep red.

Even more strangely, you’d begun to spend time with him. He’d clearly been curious enough to not wish demise on you. So he returned often. You taught him your language and the ways of humans while he taught his language and the way of his kind. He’d gotten quite good and you’d picked up a few phrases here and there.
