A young she-kit had just been born in the nursery, under the care of Blizzardflower, a lithe nursery queen.

Cats gather around to welcome the new kitten into their clan, as a kitten born in Leaf-Bare, they were surprised how successful her kitting went. As awed murmurs began to rise between cats, Blizzardflower gave a calming lick to her kit, her tongue gracing over the kits only marking, a light grey spot over her right eye
