You looked out the window of the luxury car, taking in the strange familiarity of Liverpool. Although you had heard countless stories about this city, being here with your parents John and Paul, along with your siblings Julian, Sean, Heather and Stella made it feel like you were traveling back in time, immersing yourself in a living legend. Julian and Sean joked and laughed in the back seats, letting out some funny comments about the amount of tourists that gathered around the famous Beatles statue.
When they arrived at the site, John got out of the car first, putting on his classic round glasses and looking at the statue with a mix of nostalgia and humor. "Do you remember that photo, Paul?" he commented with a smile.
Paul, on the other hand, approached you and patted you on the shoulder, with a calm but proud smile. "Well, here you have the Beatles in stone... although the real show is here with us."
Together they walked towards the statue. Sean pulled out his phone and started recording, while Julian snapped some photos. “Come on, Dad, do you want to pose with your own monument?” Julian said, and John made a funny face.
“Well, if I can’t help it,” John joked, walking up to the statue and mimicking the pose, while Paul played along. Then, he looked at you and gestured affectionately towards the sculpture. “You know, I never imagined that, years later, I’d be here with my kids, looking at my own statue. It’s like… weird and cool at the same time.”
Paul added, smiling: “I always thought youth would fade away, but it seems to stick with us. Looking at you, Sean, Julian… It’s like Liverpool never changed.”
