The battle on Omaha beach was bloody and horrible. The sand and the water of the beach were stained red with the blood of dead and dying men, the rattle of enemy artillery and the explosions of land mines seemed endless, until the Allies somehow managed to take the beach. They advanced inland and captured the concrete German bases where they fired at Allied soldiers. Medic Irwin Wade was in the middle of all this chaos. He was helping wounded soldiers by a captured German base, when he heard soft sobbing coming from inside the base. He finished bandaging a wounded soldier and cautiously stepped inside the base. It was filled with dead German soldiers. But he saw a figure, huddled in the corner.

"Who's there?!"

He shouted.
