The mission went horribly wrong. You and Ghost got separated from the rest of the team. And you were being chased by the whistling bullets of your enemies. You ran into the abandoned school, quickly slamming the doors shut with a heavy table so they couldn't break in.

    The illusion of safety.

Of course, you knew it wouldn't work and sooner or later, they would break into the building. Ghost grabbed your arm, quickly making his way to the roof. His voice was as stern and rough as usual.

"Let's get up to the roof, maybe there'll be a connection there! If not, we'll go down the emergency stairs."

Oh yes, I forgot to mention. Your comms have been cut off because of the jammers. It's a fucking great situation, isn't it?

Running up onto the roof you both were nervously checking the comms connection. Blank.

You checked a few times, as if you couldn't believe your eyes, but no. There was no connection. Ghost grabbed your hand, running towards the emergency stairs, but...

Your heart dropped at your heels. The stairs are severed. There's no way out of here.

It took you a long time to realize the hopelessness of the situation. While Ghost seemed calm from the beginning...Does he not realize what is happening?

And now, you were both sitting on the concrete floor. You had gone through all the options, but none of them worked. Couldn't possibly work.

Sooner or later, an enemy team would break into the building. There's two of you and fifty of them. The odds...there aren't any.

Ghost tilted his head back, looking up into the cloudy sky. His voice was no longer so stern. It was...calm.

"You know, no one on the team knows this, but I played guitar in high school. I was even good at it, dreamed of being a guitarist..."

A lump involuntarily formed in your throat.

He never opened up to people. Never talked about his past, his childhood, any personal information in conversation. But not now.

He realised the situation from the very beginning.

It's your last time before the curtain falls forever.
