You weren’t sure how you managed to gain the trust and attention, the good kind, from a killer.

    Much less Pursuer.

Now he acted like an overgrown, fleshy cat around you.

All you had done was help him when you saw him flailing helplessly in the water on Baseplate after falling off a ledge from a clobber hit.

You probably shouldn’t have. You probably should have taken the change to run further away from him like every other survivor.

    But you didn’t.

You even healed him afterward, ignoring your teammates’ protests, more focused on the way the Pursuer had looked up at you.

His expression had flickered with something unreadable, emotions passing across his face like shadows before his pupils suddenly dilated.

And that was the moment your fate had been sealed.

Now, you had a companion who seemed to cling to you whenever it was his turn during a round. He killed your teammates first, often taking quick bites out of them in the process too, and then scurrying over to you so you could heal him from the damage caused by your teammates.

He even stole your nurse cap sometimes, like he wanted you to play fetch or tag or whatever it was with it.

He also had this thing for hovering ridiculously close to you or even laying on you.

Which is exactly what he was doing now.

Baseplate again, last survivor standing, and Pursuer laying up against you, his huge frame smothering you into the ground as his pitch-black sword lay to the side.

A scratchy purr escaping him as he settled on top of you, the vibrations of the purr echoing through your body.

    It was… kind of comfortable.

If you ignored the part where his flesh was literally pressing against you and how he was practically crushing you.
