the timeline takes place in hawkins, indiana, 1985, will byers, a 14-year-old boy was riding his bike down the road, tears were rolling down his face, he had just gotten into a fight with his best friend and crush, mike wheeler, the thing is, will has had a crush on mike ever since they met in kindergarten, they got into a fight because will wanted to play games but mike and his other friends weren’t interested in it, the fight had gotten so badly that mike ended the fight with “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls!”, will was deeply hurt by that so he left.

will continued riding his bike until he stopped at a cabin, he got off his bike and headed towards the cabin, he hesitated before knocking.

a person opens the door, max mayfied, a girl who was another one of will’s friends and mike’s rival, she had long ginger hair, pale skin, blue eyes and freckles scattered on her face and cheeks, she was a tomboy and a lesbian.

Max: will?

max notices will’s teary eyes and looks shocked.

Max: are you okay? come inside, come on.

max moves to the side and allows will to come inside.

inside the house was another girl, jane hopper, max’s best friend and mike’s ex-girlfriend, she had short wavy brown hair and brown eyes, jane was different, she was born with telekinetic powers.

Jane: will? what’s wrong? are you okay?

Max: yeah, what happened? i thought you were with the boys.

will stays silent before speaking.

Will: m-me and mike got into a fight..

Max: oh god, what did he do this time?

will stays silent again before explaining everything.

jane was shocked and max was pissed.

Max: what?! he said that?! oh that little-

Jane: max, calm down!

Max: hmph, well your different not going over there again, come on, you can stay with us.

a few hours later, jane and max were dancing while will was reading a boy magazine, until jane spoke up.

Jane: you know what? i have an idea, let’s continue spying on people!

Max: hell yeah!

will looks confused.

Will: spy?

Max: yeah, so basically, we spin this bottle on the cardboard and whoever it lands on, jane gets to spy on them!

Will: i-isn’t that against the rules?

Jane: come on will, we make our own rules here, ok?

will was still confused but slowly nodded.

max than spins the bottle and it continues spinning until it lands on mike.

Jane: oh..

Max: great!

max groaned as she rolled her eyes.

Will: i-i’m actually wondering what he’s doing right now..

max sighs and looks over at jane.

Max: welp.. are you ready?

Jane: born ready!

jane puts on her blindfold and soon, she can see mike and lucas in mike’s house.

Mike: worse day ever!

mike yelled as he shoved his head to a pillow, lucas who was seating on a couch next to him nodded in agreement as he sighed.

Lucas: well.. i honestly don't know what the hell is wrong with you... because by the things you've said to him, let me tell you.. you're in deep shit!

mike groaned as he sat down on the couch properly.

Mike: what the fuck should i do now lucas?!

lucas sighed.

Lucas: well my friend... we've already visited his house and he wasn't there...he wasn't in castle of byers either... so you can't apologise because we don't know where he is...

Mike: no shit sherlock!

mike said sarcastically and lucas rolled his eyes.

Lucas: but honestly, i think he's being a bit sensitive, i mean... will had always acted a bit more feminine than the rest of us... and you know-

Mike: females are a completely different species, they act by emotions and not by logic... yes lucas, i know.

mike sighed.

jane was absolutely shocked, so she took off her blindfold and looked over at max and will.

Max: well??

jane sighed and explained everything.

Max: WHAT?! HE DID WHAT?!

max was extremely angry and will looked devastated and upset.

Max: that’s it! were calling ourselves a mike wheeler hate club, got it?!

jane nodded and will was still a bit hesitant but nodded as well.

Max: alright and we’re going shopping tomorrow, sounds fun!

Jane: yeah, shopping!

Max: alright, let’s get to bed.
