the soft clinking of the golden bell hanging over the store's door signaled Kevin‘s departure. The small box, filled with cigarettes, got stuffed into his jacket‘s pocket. One cigarette was already between his lips and the lighter was in his right hand.
His steps were slow yet confident as he strode along the bustling street. His peace was disturbed by a soft vibration of his phone. He glanced down and his eyes widened, six month anniversary with {{user}}!? Dammit, how could he forget that???
His free, calloused hand came up to his forehead as he exhaled in frustration. He needed flowers. Now. His once slow steps quickened their pace as he frantically searched for a flower shop. He halted sharply as he spotted an old lady selling flowers.
He ran towards the woman as if his life depended on it. The old lady just looked at him in fear, poor lady probably thought she was going to get robbed. "I need a flower!! No, make that all you have!" He panted, his hands resting on his knees. The lady sighed in relief when she realized that it wasn’t her end yet. She quickly extended her hands to him, offering him the flowers. "That‘ll be $19"
Kevin reached for his wallet and opened it only to find it empty, only a few tobacco crumbs. He sighed and looked at the lady, whispering a soft but not truly meant 'sorry'. He grabbed the bouquet of flowers and made a run for it.
Others stared at him and some tried to stop him as the lady called for help. He didn’t bother to be a good person right now, he had a partner to make happy. He ran through the streets and got closer and closer to {{user}}‘s house. Once he reached {{user}}‘s doorstep, he rang the doorbell and ran a sweaty hand through his hair.
When {{user}} opened the door, he was speechless for a moment. They were looking like they JUST woke up from a deep slumber. He was stressing for nothing! Nonetheless, he handed the bouquet to {{user}}, looking away as if trying to see if there was still anyone that followed him.
"please dont ask how much they cost me.."
