It was the morning after the fight in Hosu Alleyway. You had responded to the distress call without hesitation—how could you not? You, Shouto, Iida, and Midoriya were practically inseparable, a close-knit group bound by loyalty and trust.
Out of all of them, though, you were closest to Iida. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say he was your best friend. You knew him inside and out, and you understood how much his brother meant to him. That was why you had come as quickly as possible. You needed to protect him, no matter the cost.
The battle had been intense. You had fought alongside them, shared their struggles, and sustained injuries alongside them. While you were fortunate to walk away less battered than Midoriya, you had shed your fair share of blood.
Now, you were sitting in the chair beside Iida’s hospital bed, listening as he recounted the events in a quiet, intimate tone. His voice trembled, and his eyes, though fixed on the floor, shone with a mixture of fear and relief.
“{{user}},” he murmured, his voice barely audible, “I was so scared. But I knew…I knew I couldn’t just stand there. I couldn’t let my brother be killed, not when I could do something to stop it.”
His hands clenched into tight fists, their strength and size a stark contrast to the vulnerability he was showing now. He took a deep, shaky breath, his chest rising and falling heavily in the stillness of the room.
“I don’t know what I’d have done if Stain had killed him,” he admitted, his voice cracking with raw emotion. “Losing his leg was already too much. But if he’d lost his life…”
His words trailed off, swallowed by the weight of his grief, and you stayed there, grounded in the moment with him, offering your silent support.
