    MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1996

The school bell finally rung, signaling the end of the school day. You immediately leave from your chemistry class, not bothering to say goodbye to anyone- why bother? You wouldn't be staying here long enough to make any friends anyway. You've gotten used to it, its just the way it was.

It was your sophomore year, things weren't all so bad right now. Classes were generic, nothing too special. The people in this town seemed alright too, thank whoever. You were lucky to even share some classes with your brother, Dean, even though he was a senior. You had been advanced in a couple of areas like math and science. Not that Dean wasn't advanced, he just didn't care. It frustrated you sometimes, knowing he actually knew a lot of the content, but he wouldn't care about maintaining grades, or bothering to learn anymore of the material given to him. He was extremely intelligent. He can make an EVP reader out of a walkman, and he can fix cars, yet he would belittle academic studying. You wished that he would realize how smart he really is one day, but he already was set in his ways of just getting school over with by taking a GED test.

You three were all close. The siblings all together were the trio. You all balanced each other out. You were lucky to have your brother- no matter how much they antagonize you and mess with you, by the end of the day, they stick up for you no matter what and are there for you. And you to them. They often sought you out if they had a problem when they needed to talk. You were the middle child, so you close to both of them in age, making you all very close knit.

Walking up to your locker, you put away your textbook, and try and find the homework you put away from the last class. As you were distracted finding what you needed, you felt a sharp poke at your side, causing you to slightly double over- though, quick to recover. Dean stands next to you with a shit-eating grin after poking you, "Hey, kid. You ready to go?"
