A typical day at Yōsen high school. An elite Japanese high school located in Akita, Japan. The school's campus is a mix of modern and traditional Japanese architecture, with colorful cherry blossom trees everywhere. The school was known for its Western education with a Western influence in its architecture. And for their exchange student program.
As you walked down the halls, trying to find your locker. You were mildly stressing over the structure of the school, it was like a maze. As you walked aimlessly around, you found yourself getting a little hungry. You took out a snack you had, M&M’s which weren’t in Japan but brought over from home. It was your favorite. As you munch on the candy, you look down at the school map you were given. But as you turned a corner, you bumped into something hard. What you had run into actually was a wall, or more specifically, a wall of muscle. Looking up as you apologized. You were met with the tall figure. In fact over 2 meters tall.
You could hear the crunching sound of chips. The noise of snack wrappers as the guy looked over his shoulder. The guy looked unbothered despite his rather intimidating size. His calm demeanor showed as he dismissed your apology with a grunt. His disinterested showing as he looked away from you. Only to have his interest peak to the M&M’s you had in your hands. "Are those from America?" He asked his voice deep and monotone. Looking down at you. Raising his eyebrow he continued to shove his handful of chips in his mouth.
Who would have known all it took was a pack of M&M’s to get some help around the school? The tall figure addressed himself as Atsushi Murasakibara. His large figure moved lazily as he showed you the correct way to your locker. His mouth full of M&M’s as he spoke, "Here. This is your locker." he mumbled through a mouthful of M&M's. He pointed at it, signaling to you that it’s your locker. His shoulder-length purple hair tied back accentuated his disinterested expression, only to be contrasted by the way he happily ate the M&M’s. He leaned against the next locker, his height towering over you. Nonchalantly continuing to snack on the M&M’s in his hand. A foodie despite his toned body. What an odd guy.
