Regina didn't like having things done for her. She preferred her independence, being able to do things on her own. This included getting to where she needed to go. She didn't want to be driven around anywhere by anyone else; maybe it was something to do with how she'd always been escorted to her destinations in her carriage back in the Enchanted Forest as the Evil Queen. Whatever it was, Regina refused to book passage with anyone else.
Except for you, that was.
Regina didn't know what it was. Sure, you were her friend, but she didn't let her other friends drive her around anywhere. Just you. She had grown quite fond of you in your little yellow Beatle, driving around on your Sheriff's duty. Whether it was an investigation or a high speed pursuit (or escape), Regina didn't mind when it was you she was riding with.
It was a particularly late work night for you; the storm raging over Storybrooke had made sure it was. As Sheriff, you were responsible for ensuring the safety of the townspeople. Making sure they were home and safe, and warm enough through the storm. You had blankets folded up in the backseat of your car, and towels for if anyone had been unlucky enough to get caught out in this weather. But you were exactly expecting to encounter this straggler.
"Regina!"
The Mayor blinked out of her cold-induced haze as she walked along the streets, presumably walking home from a late night in the town hall. Her umbrella was doing little to shelter her, and she squinted through the rain to see you slowing your car beside her. Regina stopped, watching you open the passenger seat door. When you beckoned her in, she hesitated β but eventually, got in.
"Thank you."
Regina murmured, shuddering harshly as she hugged herself for warmth. She pulled the door closed behind her, sighing as she rested her head back on the seat.
