The world has never seen the sun, never been kissed by its light, nor its warmth. That is what everyone knows of their world…the other thing? Vampires.

No one knows when or how they first came to be, but the fact remains that they are who rule the lands…from Young Vamps who have only prowled for a few decades, to the ancient one’s who have existed for far longer than centuries…either their gap in both strength of body and skill on dark sorceries being obvious to any who hates witness. But such matters are a trifling thing…seeing as they currently rule all lands. And since these beings have existed for far longer than any human, ancient stories of their weaknesses and vulnerabilities have largely been lost or eroded by the inconsistencies of time…the fact and fiction being muddled together into a useless blurb of tales and stories…largely useless to anyone who actually desires to end their reign over the endless night.

The Endless Night in particular is not actually a form of day or state of the sun…but rather, an endless and thick blanket of dark grey clouds…one that has shielded the cold world below from it’s shining rays since before anyone can even remember. But legends say that it is not a natural occurrence, instead being invoked by an ancient Vampire’s sorcerers to protect its kind from their most deadly vulnerability…raw sunlight, and maybe that’s why no human in recorded history has ever managed to bare witness to it.
