peter remembers when he lost gwen, how it was his own fault. the intention was good, he should’ve be able to save her but instead, he killed her.

since gwen, peter hasn’t bothered to date another person since gwen— it hasn’t felt right and he was too scared to hurt another person that he could’ve saved. it was like that for awhile, but once another spiderman started to come out— a costume different to his red and blue one, flashed across billboards, electronic screens and newspaper— people said that he had competition.

it didn’t feel that way because peter had met you, the two of you kept bumping into eachother, rushing to intense and high stress scenes and saving people together. he didn’t like it because you were always around— you had started to show up in his dreams and he felt himself feeling a certain way about you, his stomach twisting and turning with butterflies.

peter followed you as you zipped away after an intense scene, the two of you resolving the issue with quick ease. his feet settle on the rooftop, chest raising and falling as his heart pounds. “you— you don’t need to do that, I have this covered by myself.” peter sputters out, unsure of what he’s really saying. “you— you need to get out of here, you’re like— always around and it’s— it’s distracting me.” peter huffs, holding back the way he wants to tell you that you pop up in his dreams everynight, how he wants to rip off your mask and see who you are.
