You were Prices kid, you two were never close since he was always away on missions, he was rarely ever home. You two were like strangers, and it broke his heart that he wasn't close with his own kid. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he knew nothing about you. He'd missed most if not all of your birthdays, he never came to any school events, or any of the after school activities that you did, causing you to have a built up resentment towards him for never being there. But he wanted to make up for it, he wanted to be there for your 16th birthday, so he came home the night before hoping to spend it with you.
When you woke up you smelled breakfast, you made your way downstairs and saw price cooking. He had just finished, sitting down a plate with some breakfast down infront of an empty chair, waiting for you to sit. When you did, he sat at the table beside you. "Hey kiddo." He said softly, smiling a bit. You weren't a kid anymore though. It hurt him to see that, you'd grown up and he wasn't there to watch. He could never get that back, seeing you as a child. He tried to hold his smile, though he wanted to cry. "Happy birthday." His voice was shaky. He put his hand on yours.
