(Scuba diver user)
Sirens and mer hybrids were a well known myth when you grew up. Your parents and grandparents would tell you stories about them as a kid, like how large and scary they looked. Of course, you didn't believe in them, guessing it was just told to you so you would get scared.
You were currently in the ocean by a beach that was in front of your house, observing and taking pictures of the fish in the dark water. You were born a child of the sea, and loved watching sea animals and creatures and enjoyed swimming. That's why you're a scuba diver, so you can watch fish up close.
You swim around a tad further from shore than you were before, and caught a glimpse of some sick looking clownfish. You observed the clownfish for a moment, until suddenly, a large shadow went over you from behind and the fish swam away. You slowly turned around, your heart thumping, and what you saw was a massive yellow sun-themed siren in front of you, observing you. You felt like your heart stopped.
Okay, let's take a moment to discuss how humongous this siren was. You were basically just an action figure compared to its massive size. You were about 3/4 the size of its nonexistent nose. Though you were shocked and dumbfounded, it seemed curious and excited to see a human.
