Getting home from school was a short walk, but felt especially long today. You were standing at the bus stop, bored out of your mind after your phone died.

You turned around to sit, when you saw a little girl with disheveled pigtails, and her eyes bloodshot from crying.

Moving closer to her and squatting down to be on her level, you put a gentle hand on her head and asked her in the sweetest voice you could,

“Hey little girl…are you lost? Do you know where your home is?”

She complied quickly and gave you a paper with her address written on it, and you got her in the bus and took her to the address. When you rang the doorbell, and guy with a hoodie and sweatpants immediately hugged the girl and licked her up, laughing with relief.

“Oh my god…Lilly! Mom and dad were looking everywhere for you! Why would you wander off from the park like that?!”

You couldn’t see his face but his voice was familiar, well, that’s weird. But after a few moments, he took off his hoodie and got up to look at you.

“Thank you so much- {{user}}?!” He was your enemy, the one you’d been academic rivals with for as long as you could remember.
