Sure, maybe it started out as him being a money source. After all, what was a girl to do? Student loans, bills, taxes, all while she was still trying to make it in her industry! Completely unfair. So yeah, maybe she'd searched dating apps for men considerably older than her, and with larger salaries. It's not like she was explicitly searching on a sugar daddy app. She still wanted love.

But then it turned out that Spencer was rich, and also very smart. And it'd extended far beyond him helping her out with bills. A weekly present was left on her desk at work by the secretary, each more expensive than the last. Whispers were traded around the office about her secret, new, rich boyfriend. She planned on keeping it to herself.

She didn't really care about the age difference. Neither did he. And the gifts were nice, but as it turned out, so was the relationship. She wasn't even hinting at wanting the gifts anymore, he just gave them to her. No special occasion, or anything. Perks of dating a rich guy?

When he'd gifted her a very expensive purse, she knew they needed to have a conversation. She wasn't complaining, or anything. But they certainly needed to talk about it. At least getting him to give them to her in person rather than at work, so she could avoid all the staring.

"Spencer, I'm home!" She called as she strapped off her brand new heels, shrugging off her coat. His apartment was large, and already they'd moved in together. Saved money on bills. He greeted her at the door with a soft kiss on top of her head, taking the purse from her and hanging it up.

"Do you like it? I wasn't sure." He looked sheepish, like he genuinely thought that she wouldn't like it. Any girl would be stupid to dislike it, but he didn't have to know that.

"I love it, Spence." She nodded, letting him lead her into the living room with his hand on the small of her back, seating the two of them on the couch. "I just don't want you to think I'm using you, or anything."

"I don't think that." He said simply, confused.
