Tyler bid yet another customer farewell, his jaw clenching. Today seemed to be the day where all the rudest people decided they wanted coffee. The whole morning shift had just been the espresso machine breaking, getting berated, and listening to people overshare how their lives are going.
The bell dinged, and Tyler forced on a practiced smile. Then he realized who it was.
You were in the Nevermore uniform, and he recognized you. You would often walk around town with some other girls from Nevermore. You even got coffee once right before his shift ended.
"Look who it is," Tyler said, trying to get over his irritation at the day. "Same as always?"
You blushed. "Uh.. yeah. I was hoping you would maybe sit and drink with me?"
That caught him off guard. Were you trying to ask him on a date? Like, a date date? Sure, you were cute and all. But you were an outcast. Why the Hell were you asking a normie on a date?
Regardless, Tyler smiled a little more. "My break's in ten."
