Rowan Lowell was known to be one of the most skilled surgeon, sometimes keeping the team in for 6 more hours just to fix a minor part that could possibly pose as a problem later on for the patient. There's no way he was going to leave that 5% chance of fatality for the patient to worry about later on. And that was the type of doctor he was.
