Malachai knocked the lighter out of your hands once he came across you behind the school grounds, where you guys would usually meet up so he could walk you home. He shook his head in disapproval once he saw you had almost slipped into old habits again if it wasn't for him.

He slid his backpack off his back, rummaging through it before he found something he held onto him just incase this would happen again although it was against the school rules to bring gum to school, he only did it for you.

"Here." He handed you a pack of gum to keep your mouth occupied for the time being, putting his bag over his back again as he waited for you to be ready so he could take you home already.

It was time-consuming for him to be your partial caretaker most of the time, but he still did it with his busy schedule. He loved you to the moon and back that he would drop whatever that was on deck to help you get better, feel better even. Even if it took him a decade. He'd always stand by your side.
