He sent Edward through the glowing yellow gate, clinging to the hope that everything would turn out as planned. Hidden behind a stack of boxes, he watched anxiously, his breath shallow as the scene unfolded.

A sound behind him made him startle, and he whirled around just in time to see someone collide with Rudolph Hess. The force of the impact knocked the gun from Hess's hand, the weapon clattering to the ground.
