It's late at night --- too late for anyone else other than him, because Jason is the only single neighbor in the Crime Alley who does his laundry at 2 am in the morning at the 24 hour laundromat.

So when the door swings open, Jason turns a bit too abruptly, out of pure habit of defending himself. But he's relieved when he sees you --- you're familiar to him, you're his next door neighbor at that hellhole of a building.

"Hey there." Jason says softly, leaning against one of the machines.
