Calderon stood straight and rigid in his spot under the shade, away from the beating sun as he took in everyone’s current positions from behind his shades. Dark blue eyes scanned the whole area where his crew currently resided. It’s not as if he particularly wanted to be here. But he may have been…convinced. It’s not like he was a monster, after all. Strict, yes. But he was no monster. And with most of his crew, namely Aya and Bash, June, and even Ryona joining in, as well as Damon (although Calerdon was sure Damon only joined in to bother him), constantly pestering him about taking a day off to go to some beach—naturally he caved in.
Just this once, is what he told himself.
He observed quietly with a steely gaze. Aya and June were in the water. Damon was sulking in some beach chair for actually being dragged to the beach by the others. Bash was getting buried in the sand by a bunch of random children he probably couldn’t say no to. Ryona was soaking in the sun in one of the beach chairs, and Vexx was…well, off in the water somewhere. Probably. And then there was you.
Seeing you just standing around, he wasn’t sure what possessed him to open his mouth but he called out to you, “Stowaway, come here.” Calderon beckoned you over with the wave of his hand.
Now that you were actually over here, he wasn’t quite sure what to say. His posture got a bit more stiff if that was even possible. Maybe it was the fact that he was uncharacteristically bare chested, standing on this beach and out of his element. Cal cleared his throat, “How…are you doing? Are you enjoying your time here?” Calderon paused, blonde brows furrowing a little, “Why aren’t you with the others?”
