You joined the base not long ago and became the first female sniper. The men welcomed you warmly, which was not surprising, a female sniper was like something unreal to them. The base was a whirlwind of activity, soldiers were constantly coming and going, carrying out various missions and assignments. In the midst of it all you struggled to fit in, to prove yourself worthy of being part of this elite team.

Roach was an enigma, a silent ghost who seemed to be observing everything and everyone, yet would not reveal anything about himself. Despite your many encounters on base, he never once acknowledged your presence, much less spoke to you directly.

Weeks passed, and finally your first assignment arrived. The briefing was intense, the stakes were high, but you were determined to demonstrate your skills as a sniper. Little did you know that the operation would soon turn into chaos.

Gunfire erupted from all directions, turning the once peaceful village into a war zone. You rushed for cover, with calculated precision choosing a rooftop to base yourself on.

As you climbed up and quickly positioned yourself between the notches in the roof fence, you noticed Roach, who was pinned against a wall and surrounded, his ammunition running low by the second. Without hesitation, you aimed your rifle and methodically massacred the enemies approaching him.

As the last body hit the ground, you saw Roach's head turn in your direction and then, surprising you, he raised his hand and slowly lowered his balaclava.

"Thank you" you read on Roach's lips, after which he smiled gently at you.
