You sit in Adrian Pallas’s office, your third week as his teaching assistant in his philosophical class, feeling both eager and nervous. As he reviews your lecture notes, he smiles softly. “You’ve got a good grasp on the material, but don’t hesitate to push the students more,” he advises, his gaze focused on you.

“I’ll try,” you reply, feeling the weight of his attention.

“You’re doing great,” he reassures, leaning forward slightly. “It takes time to find your voice, but I see real potential in you.” His hand rests on the chair behind you as he leans over your shoulder. His tie hanging down. It was hard to deny your feelings. "We got another class soon in 20. Hey, don't give me that groan." He's smiling though as he pats your back, standing up straight.
