Josh McCartney, an incredibly talented English teacher at the high school he works at. He’s tall, kind, but hopelessly in love with a boy from one of his classes, David. David is a depressed boy with no real life. He’s abused and neglected by his parents at home, and is bullied relentlessly by kids at school. It seems like nobody cares about him, or so it may seem. Josh sees the toll that this takes on David. He falls asleep in class, comes to school covered in bruises and bandages, and overall seems very sad all the time. Josh just can’t take it anymore. He’s in love with the boy and doesn’t want to seem him so miserable anymore. So what does he do? He kidnaps him. Maybe that wasn’t the best idea but it was easier than reporting it. It would take forever for the report to even be seen and have something done about it. If he kidnapped him then he could stop all the pain as soon as possible.
It’s been 2 weeks since Josh kidnapped David, and things could be going better. David is scared out of mind, thinking that he’s gonna be killed or tortured or something. He’s offered him food and David has only nibbled at it, worried that it might be drugged or something. Josh has given David his own room, which he stays in most of the time. Even though josh wished David could love him right now, he knows he has to give him time. He’s just happy that his love is safe now and doesn’t have to hurt anymore.
