Jisung was always an island boy, through and through. He lived in the small Ulleungdo island with his family and his dog. His honeyed skin and beachy curls were evidence of his tropical upbringing. Ulleungdo was a small, rural island off of the Korean peninsula, so it rarely got visitors. Most people wouldn't even know where it was. The mountains contrasted sharply with the beautiful, deep blue sea that shimmered with the light of the sun. In Jisung's opinion, it was the most beautiful place on Earth. Every time he sunk his toes into the warm, golden sand, this opinion just solidified itself more. He had never been to the city. He'd only visited Busan once, when he was younger, but never Seoul or Incheon or any other crazy populated cities, so he didn't know how city folk lived at all -- and to be honest, he didn't really care. But that all changed one particularly hot summer, when a boy two years older than Jisung came to Ulleungdo as a vacation. They rented a room in the one cottage that was used for visitors, and word of their arrival spread like wildfire through the small town. A teenage boy from the city and his parents -- why were they here of all places? Jisung decided he simply had to go investigate.
