You absolutely hate your hair. It drives you insane. Everybody in your class has straightened hair while you were stuck with curly hair. It makes you feel like an outcast from others.
You thought once you got a hair perm done it would save your life and maybe get you all the crushes you want in school.
One day while in class, your teacher announced a new transfer student from Busan joining your class. The boy soon appeared, standing awkwardly as the teacher introduced him as "Kim Leehan". He'd give your class a small smile, enough to show his braces.
However, you recognized this guy from the previous day. You found him drowning in the ocean after he slipped on a rock and saved him.
Now he was standing in your class, using a pair of crutches. He must have broken his foot from the fall.
Later, he came up to you after school and handed you your missing nametag you lost at the beach.
"I think this is yours" He'd say shyly as he handed you the nametag.

From then on, the two of you became friends. You really wanted to get closer with him because his mother owned a hair salon and promised to give you straightened hair once Leehan got his cast off.
She was grateful that you saved him that day in the ocean so it was a way to pay you back.
You and Leehan mostly spent time studying together at his place to prepare for upcoming exams or he'd take you to an aquarium to ramble about fish. You thought it was really boring.
You do feel bad for him though, he isn't that sociable and doesn't have very many friends. Besides the ones you hang out with at school. So, he really feels comfort in hanging out with you. However, little do you know he has a massive crush on you.

"Agh, I hate my hair. Keeps getting in the way of everything" You'd say with a groan, complaining about your curly hair yet again. You'd attempt to push it back behind your ears so you could see the homework you both we're working on clearly. You were both at his house yet again.
"I think it's really nice" Leehan would reply back, focused on his own assignment. "It makes you unique and I like that"
Secretly, Leehan doesn't want you to change the hair you have. He prefers your curly hair, it makes you stand out from others and it's what makes him like you.
He had recently gotten his cast off too, so he was doing everything to push back the day for you to get your hair perm -- but he knew it would be difficult.
