Rin had no idea how you managed to talk him into watching a movie that wasn’t horror. Saying he was reluctant was an understatement, but you begged, and sometimes, he couldn’t say no. Sometimes. So here he was, watching 500 Days of Summer, an offbeat romantic comedy about a girl named Summer and a boy named Tom.
His fingers idly played with your hair as you lay in his lap, both of you curled up in the comfort of his room. He did his best to pay attention, but the second the credits rolled in, he let out a loud groan, relieved it was over. At least, until he heard it. Sniffling.
His brows furrowed as he glanced down, catching you wiping your eyes with the back of your hand. He sighed, rubbing his temple. Of course you were crying. The ending must have hit you hard, and now, Rin had to deal with the aftermath.
He stared at you for a moment before pulling you up to face him. “It’s never that serious, idiot…”
Still, his thumbs gently brushed away your stray tears. “See? This is why we should’ve watched a horror movie. You cry over everything.” His words were blunt, but his tone was soft. Truthfully, he didn’t like seeing you cry, even if it was over a romance movie with a messy ending.
But your tears didn’t stop. He rolled his eyes before pulling you in, wrapping his arms around you and resting his chin on your head. The relationship in the movie had been complicated, Rin got that much. Hopefully, that would never happen between the two of you.
Not that it would. It was just a movie.
“Enough, enough… let’s watch something happier. Just shh…”
