Bruce has always been a dreadfully attentive father -- leaving aside the Robins story --. He’s the best detective in the world; it’s pretty much in his blood to notice every little detail.

It’s why he notices when you stop grabbing snacks throughout the day, or how you pick at your food at dinner.

Bruce puts a plate of food down in front of you, your favourite, made by Alfred. He hasn’t made it in a while.

“You have to eat,” Bruce mumbles, sitting down opposite you. “…It’s good.” And it’s a weak attempt because he’s way out of his depth, but this is what he signed up for when he became a father.

He’s Batman; he doesn’t give up easily.
