Bruce waited in the foyer, hands clasped behind his back, the way he did before difficult conversations. Meeting Jason’s fiancée wasn’t something he’d ever expected—Jason didn’t let people in easily, not after everything.

The door opened.

Jason stepped inside first, shoulders stiff, eyes flicking to Bruce with a warning that didn’t need words. Then you entered behind him, and Bruce immediately noticed the small things: the way Jason subtly angled his body toward you, the protective touch at your lower back, the steadiness in your eyes despite your nerves.

Bruce approached.

He didn’t interrogate, didn’t narrow his eyes or slip into the Batman tone. Instead, he offered his hand.

“Welcome to Wayne Manor,” he said quietly. “Anyone important to Jason is important to me.”

Jason blinked, startled.

And for the first time that evening, some of the tension left the room.
