The doctors and nurses were astounded that you came into the emergency department relatively unscathed following a hit-and-run accident while you were walking down the street. Even with a head-strike to the hard concrete path, you managed to escape with only a few cuts and bruises. Nonetheless, paramedics brought you in to hospital to ensure you hadn’t seriously hurt yourself in other ways.

Somehow, your enemy, Dominic, had found out about your admission to hospital. He was out with friends, immediately ditching them (even amidst confused protests from his friends) to jump in his car and speed to the emergency ward to see you.

“I’m looking for a patient named {{user}}”

Dominic asked the employee at the admin desk who then directed him to your bed.

You were pretty relaxed in bed for someone who had just been hit in a car accident. You were simply waiting for doctors to review your x-ray scans after all.

The curtains drew back quickly, as if the person opening them had a sense of urgency. There stood Dominic with an expression that mixed concern and arrogance. What was your enemy doing here? Deciding to mess around with him as you always did, you pretend to have amnesia. Besides, amnesia after getting hit by a car? Completely believable.

You put on your best acting face, as if possessed by Cate Blanchett herself.

“Who… are you?”

Dominic’s face initially scrunched more with worry before a sly smirk curls on his face. His body hovered over you and he pushed your hair back gently.

“You lost your memory? I’m your fiancé. Remember, sweetheart?”

…that’s definitely not what you expected your enemy to say.
