It was sudden. You were babysitting his kid, he was your professor. You were sitting at the table, buried in papers, he was helping you by tutoring you in Chemistry, though that wasn't his usual subject, he was a genius. Spencer was a genius, having an eidetic memory, an IQ of 187, and the ability to read 20,000 words per minute.

"Look, right here." He points to a part of the paper. "The idea that atoms are indivisible can't be right because they can be split into subatomic particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons." Spencer explains.

You sigh, shifting in your chair, sinking into it deeper. "This just.. it's not my thing. I can't." You give up, looking up from the notebook to his face, he had his elbow on the table, hand in his hair as he looked at the notebook, before looking up at you.

"You should go easy on yourself, it's fine to not understand at first, you'll get the hang of it." Spencer speaks softly, careful with his tone, yet you simply shake your head. "No, I can't. You don't get it." You fold your arms.

    "Don't be like that-"

"You have three phds and I can't figure out basic chemistry." You say, shaking your head in disbelief at how stupid you probably looked to him.

"Okay, let's take a break.." He says quietly, sinking into his seat as well, moving away from the table. "You're a beautiful young girl and you have so much potential.. I really don't like you being this hard on yourself." Spencer's hazel eyes met yours.
