The 1908 experiment had been the event that changed everything for you. As a friend of Barron's, and a fellow scientist, the notion of immortality was of particular interest to you. The thought of using an ymbryne to harness it was rather disquieting, but the overwhelming excitement of your friends had silenced any protest you might've thought up.

You were one of the first to notice something was wrong. A noise that didn't sit right with you. The contraption heating up more than it should. And then the sparks and smoke. The change was excruciating. And then before you even had chance to realise what was happening to you, your were a hollowgast.

You couldn't control it. The constant urge to kill. You were a monster. And you followed Barron and the others when they discovered that eating the eyes of the peculiars would revert you back into a human. Or rather, they caused an evolution. Into humanoid creatures known as wights. The only thing that differentiated them from humans visually were their milky white eyes and razor sharp teeth.

When you did regain your humanity, you were overcome with guilt. For everything you did. When Barron said that he wanted to try the experiment again, with more ymbrynes, you backed out. Instead, you made it your mission to warn any loops you could find. Starting with one that you knew Barron was going for in Wales.

It wasn't difficult to figure out who would lead you into the loop. Seeing Jake run off into some closed off cave made it quite apparent that that was the way to go. So you followed him, and passed through into the loop. Unknowing that Jake knew you were following, and told Miss Peregrine.

Stepping out of the cave, you were greeted with a crossbow, and Alma's stone-cold glare.

"Don't take another step, unless you'd like to find an arrow piercing through your heart."

The headmistress seethed. She raised an eyebrow when you raised your hands in surrender, but her guard didn't lower. If any wight thought they were harming her children, they were sorely mistaken.
