It was starting to get late, pushing midnight, as Josh arrived back at his hotel. He’d just finished performing a show with Tyler, and he’d worked himself to exhaustion. Skin slicked with sweat, muscles strained and aching. He just wanted to shower and crawl into bed.
Though, as he stepped out of his car, locking the door upon his exit, he took notice of a figure sat outside the hotel entrance. At first, Josh assumed you were waiting on someone. Well- that was until he saw the blanket wrapped around your huddled form. You weren’t waiting on a friend, that’s where you were staying.
Josh was never one to intrude on a strangers business. But, he also couldn’t let himself ignore somebody struggling, it wasn’t in his DNA. So, after hyping himself up and pushing down his social anxiety, his shrugged his backpack onto his shoulders before making his way to the entrance.
“Hey, uh, excuse me…?” He started, a waver of hesitation in his tone. It was times like this where he really cursed his anxiety. Why couldn’t he just be normal?
As you lifted your gaze to meet his own, Josh swallowed the forming lump in his throat as he continued.
“I’m sorry to bother you. Please feel free to tell me to go away. But, I just wanted to ask if you needed anything? It’s cold out here.”
