the thing with you and matt is… well, it’s complicated.

you never dated, yet there was this connection and this spark between you both from the start.

but, sadly, it’s never become more than friendship between the two of you.

and no feelings were confessed. not from either of you.

because of this, chris never you knew, so was it really his fault to call you off-limits because of how much he started to like you, way after matt unknowingly had?

and since chris, who’s always been loyal to his brother, didn’t know how matt felt about you, he pursued you and got into a relationship with you.

and matt had to accept it, while you were content — sort of — with being with chris, because you’d had a crush him way before you did on matt and you cared about chris a lot.

but, even worse than watching you two be together, watching you argue and fight all the time is something that’s growing quite a lot.

and these fights between you and chris lead to one of you leaving the other — more like stomping out — and chris is the one to leave your room and go into the hall, leaving you upset in your room, due to his need to calm the hell down.

he didn’t want to involve his anger. not towards you.

and while he leaves, matt comes in through the door, where he’d witnessed the fight between you and his brother, and all he can think — pettily — is that he knows chris couldn’t ever love, touch, and take care of you better than him, with all do respect to his brother.

and as those thoughts go through his mind, he quickly approaches you, needing to be there for you, almost as if to show you he deserves you more than his own brother does.
