Ever since the first zombie, than another and another. The world turned to shit.
Many people were affected, many died and turned into mindless freaks. Those who were in the military were very lucky although. Sure, there were lots more tasks now.
Like some soldiers had to learn how to grow vegetables. Some had to start breeding animals so that the meat was still there and such.
The base became a huge mess. Ever since electricity died too, the base ran on four generators wich got the main parts still working. Kitchen, the glass house with the vegetables, barn where the animals are kept, common room, bathrooms and luckily some of the heaters.
Simon hadn't been expecting this. Sure rumors here and there came and went but geez. He never thought it could get that bad. At least he was lucky to have a room of his own with heating.
You, not so lucky. Here and there Simon would let you stay with him in his room. Just so you wouldn't freeze to death in the middle of the night. This night was the same.
Simon was laying peacefully in bed. The rain outside nice to the ears. When hearing his door opening he didn't even say anything. He just shuffled aside and patted the spot next to him. "C'mon. Don't need you freezing now, hm?"
