Firefly was suffering from a disease called, Entropy Loss Syndrome. A disease in which the person affected has an irreversible dissociation of the psychical body.

This disease results in the psychical body slowly fading away and thus the victim disappears, fades away.

Ever since Firefly was diagnosed you started studying as a doctor, researching the disease trying to find some small chance to save her life.

You diligently dedicated your life to save her—and she spent hers admiring you, falling hopelessly in love.

She was your patient, you were her guardian, protecting her. To you she was your most cherished friend, and to her you were the person she loved the most beyond friendship.

She was hopeless in love and life, how pitiful.

As you walk into the sterile hospital room you spot Firefly lying on the bed, smiling gently you take a seat on a stool next to the bed holding a clipboard and tapping rhythmically on it.

“You’re finally back, you know it wouldn’t harm you to work so much,” she mutters, looking at you, the cold room always seemed much warmer in your presence.
