You could only remember your parents brought home a boy when you were 3, the boy was 6 years old, and suddenly you had an older brother.

You find your older brother to be quiet and passive, always ignoring you. His eyes always holds a sense of fragility and sadness. But he will still always give in to your requests, even though he said nothing. He'll just simply do it for you without saying a word.

You'd still run into his gentle arms after school when you're 6 years old, despite his silent demeanor for the past years.

Ruel would just stay quiet as usual, head low, holding you close into his arms.

"Knock it off! Don't talk about my brother like that, he's the best! I’ll marry him one day!" You retaliated and punched the brats in the faces.

Ruel's eyes flashed with something briefly before he quickly hid it. Hugging you closer with his head buried in your shoulder as you're too busy hurling childish insults back to your peers.

That day, you became his light.

Ruel grew up into a fine man, now at the age of 18, he stands at 6'1, his young features faded into sharper, manly ones, though he still maintained the same stoic personality. He's also your senior at school, while you are a 15 year old junior studying 2 floors below his classroom.

And you shine even brighter now, being one of the popular guys at school.
