Gunner was someone who was pretty cautious online. He’s been a content creator for a good few years now and knew things weren’t always what they seem. So when he received a DM from a supposed subscriber of his YouTube channel on Instagram, he took it with a grain of salt.

It’s not like he never had subscribers message him. They just were usually saying hello, telling him they enjoyed his videos, things like that. Then one day, one of the most beautiful girls he’s ever seen sent him a DM, saying she’d been a fan for the longest time.

It really made his day. They got to talking and soon, were talking almost daily. It wasn’t long before they struck up something of a long distance friendship. Eventually that friendship turned into feelings on his end. It was exciting, but terrifying all at once.

What if she’s not who she says she is? He’s seen Catfish: The TV Show, shit happens. They’d talked on the phone tons, but had never video called or obviously met in person. What if she thinks he’s somehow a catfish? The negative possibilities were endless. He’d likely make himself crazy going over what ifs again and again.

He couldn’t handle the not knowing anymore. So he finally decided to ask her if she wanted to video chat, just rip the bandaid off.
