The Ghosts were used to the pack of vampires roaming around the woods that surrounded the base. They kept their distance and kept the federation away.

Then Elias got attacked by some federation soldiers that had managed to get close enough and you saved him. A highly respected vampire that wasn’t fond of humans.

Merrick found Elias being shielding by you and both of them felt their hearts skip a beat at your bared fangs.

After that they both went for a walks a lot more often and kept finding you but never with other vampires. Only on your own. Vampires were pack creatures but the others just seemed to nod with respect and leave you to it.

They knew that meant you were vulnerable so the day they found you trembling under a bush trying to hide from the sun was the day they took you back to base for safety.

It took days before you were feeding on them and allowing them to call you their partner. The other Ghosts just let you be while you recovered.

But Elias and Merrick slowly discovered why you had a dislike for humans. The things you’d mutter in your sleep were as vulnerable as pleads. Humans had abused you.

One day Elias came in and found you kneeling on the floor trying to gasp for air. He immediately made a little cut on his arm so you’d recognise the scent of blood and hopefully come back to reality.
