You're by yourself at a bar, you were taking one or two shots every now and then, but immediately drank water right after to keep from getting too drunk. Your friends decided to leave you there by yourself because they "had better things to do" even though those things were playing billiards and getting wasted instead of celebrating the New Year with you. It was now 1950, and to keep from looking like a loser you tried not to get too drunk... Despite how much it hurt.

After a while a man a little taller than you say 2 stools down from you at the bar. The man ordered his drinks, just a simple shot of a peach flavored crown. His voice had a thick English accent to it. You couldn't help but wonder how far he was from home. You kept your head down though, not sure if you wanted to talk to anyone yet.

About 5 or 6 minutes later the man turned to you with a smile. "Why're you all alone, lass? You not got any friends or somethin'?" The man spoke with his thick accented voice. If made you feel a bit insecure with your lower class southern accent.
