You held your hand over your closed eyes, the other holding her’s tightly as she led you somewhere. The air was crisp, the feeling of.. sand between your toes? Where was she taking you?
Your hair blew with the soft breeze, the faint smell of salt water filling your nostrils with each steps you took. The soft sounds of waves crashing could be heard in the back, along with soft noises the birds made gliding through the sky. You were definitely on the beach.
She chuckles, sliding her beach bag off of her shoulder, placing it against the cool, white sand.
“Alright.. open!” She smile’s, her hands clasped together in front of her, a toothy grin on her lips as she scans your face for your expression. It was beautiful. The sun had just set, leaving the sky a darker color, the moon and stars bright. The beach wasn’t crowded besides for a few other people around. It wasn’t hot, nor freezing, the water was a nice temperature as it crashed up onto the shore, soaking your feet before retrieving just to do it once more.
Her smile only grows, seeing how your eyes widened and your jaw dropped, not in a bad way though. In a way that you quietly said “it’s absolutely gorgeous.”
She laughs, grabbing your hand in her’s dragging you into the warm waves of the ocean. “We should play mermaid’s!” She said enthusiastically, smiling as the water gently swished around, in just enough so that the water just barely grazes your knee’s. The waves weren’t big, very calming and relaxing.
